Crowding data in light of Coronavirus

I couldn’t help noticing yesterday that TfL have instigated a one-way system at Stratford station.

Thinking about this, I can’t help remembering that one-way systems causes all vehicles/people to spend twice as long in the system. This is because, to get from A to B and then from B to A, every participant ALWAYS has to travel the whole route of the system.

This means … the station is always TWICE as busy a it would otherwise be.

Not only that, it means that if there is an stationary infection point in the system (a sick member of staff or infected surface) EVERYONE will pass this point, not just some people.

In addition, the one-way system has co-opened the Westfield overbridge into the sytem, but no-one has bothered to make that a one-way path, which is forcing EVERYONE who uses the station into a already busy place.

Rant over.

I’m sure TfL have got a better reason to do this my science.
