Data drop – New cycle routes

As part of our commitment to provide more cycling open data, we’ve expanded our cycle routes dataset to include all routes that are Open, In Progress (routes currently being built) and agreed future routes (Planned) which have passed their public consultation.

This dataset is available at cycling.data.tfl.gov.uk under the “CycleRoutes/” folder, in GeoJSON and KML format. For each route, the geometry is provided with the following meta-data:

  • Route name (e.g. Quietway 1)
  • Label (can be used on a map, e.g. Q1)
  • Status (planned, in progress, open)
  • Programme (Quietways, Cycle Superhighways, Mini-Hollands, Central London Grid)

The dataset will be updated regularly to reflect the changes as the cycle network develops.
