I think that the new 405 file is just for the Arriva school journey, which does not run south of Purley. There is another file for the main service run by Metrobus.
Could I clarify what you mean by ālines duplicatedā? Are you referring to there being more than one XML file for the route with overlapping dates of operation (there are usually plenty which do not overlap) or to something that looks wrong within an individual XML file?

Iām sure youāre right about what they meant to happen with the 405 and it would have appeared on my duplicated list, but the effect on the API call is to lose the main route entirely.
The āroute duplicatedā comment is my shorthand version of the opposite problem where, for instance, the N550 has two inbound stopPointSequence 0s and two outbound stopPointSequence 1s. These reflect a route divergence and rejoin through the City which really ought to be done as, for example, inbound 0 Canning Town-Aldgate, 1 Aldgate-Bank via St Mary Axe, 2 Aldgate-Bank via Fenchurch Street and 3 Bank-Trafalgar Square. Corresponding stuff for the outbound.
This is really part of a longer-running problem with the failure of the API and/or interface to deal with loops and split/rejoin cases. Iāve had another thread on this open for about 21 months now. If you really want to see how badly it can go wrong have a look at the national-rail entries - Merseyrail is possibly the most horrible example. Iāve written my own routines that correctly (ish) generate the routing information from the ATOC CIF-format timetable data for the rail side and am working on the same using the CUF-format for the Underground
