London Overground: new names & colours [POST UPDATED: 20 NOV '24]

@misar
The difference is that the underground line names have been well known by nearly all users since time immemorial, whereas right now the overground line names do not mean much to many. With time they will become more familiar. My question really is whether something a little more could have been done to help during those first few months of familiarisation.

Right now, if I see the list of new lines, I have to think about where they go and that’s not really what a customer information website should be about. For all I know it was considered and potential solutions rejected as too clunky to justify something which would not help the majorty of LO passengers.

I’ve noticed the different line status descriptions all seem the same, talking about other lines like it’s still all one big line.

hi @Dbus326 - Do you mean the prefix in the description saying “London Overground”? If so, we aim to get that sorted in January.

Many thanks,
James

I’ll give you an example of what is said.

''Lioness Line - Minor delays due to a signal failure

Severe delays between West Croydon and Crystal Palace’’

It says it’s own line status in one bit and then it says another bit of the overground in another bit, acting like it’s all one same line.

Thanks - We’ll check that with the LU Control Centre.
