Searches by name fail exclusively

I have an issue where, if I use the name of a stop in a search function (eg. ‘Addiscombe Tram Stop’) it returns nothing, but something like the SMS code (55054) works perfectly. Why could that be?

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

Could you please provide the URL of the request you’re making (without your API key)?

The following example works for me:
https://api.tfl.gov.uk/StopPoint/Search/Addiscombe%20Tram%20Stop

Well, that somehow helped. The link was fine (‘https://api.tfl.gov.uk/StopPoint/Search/{stop_name}’ but I forgot to format it. I assume the SMS code worked because it didn’t contain any spaces, and now standalone stations do return results. But when it comes to things like Addiscombe Tram Stop, I notice the station IDs are different, and using the one provided by the Countdown code (490002002B) shows the normal times from stop AC. But, the one I get for searching it by name (940GZZCRADD) still shows nothing. I’m relatively inexperienced, but I think the latter is some kind of hub code. How could I obtain any arrival times from that code?

I’m glad to hear the search is now working.

As for how to retrieve arrivals, my previous post here might help:

After forgetting how my code works for the seventh time, its finally working again! Thanks for the help!
