Countdown data on 229 even worse than 222!

Like there isn’t any. Has someone forgotten to load a timetable into the system?

I concur. There is still no data showing for the 229.

Hi there
One of my users reporting the following - the data comes from the unified API, please can you investigate:

service details for this route (229) in the direction of Thamesmead town centre only shows as far as Carlton Road Erith.

A friend of mine has also accessed the route on their set & it does the same.

Not helpful when I am at the Bexley Road stop, which is two beyond Carlton Road & aiming to reach St Augustine’s Road stop.

Half the route stops to Thamesmead are missing.

The entire route in the opposite direction, to Queen Mary’s hospital Sidcup is showing.

Hi, could you please confirm what data in the Unified API you’re specifically using?

If, for example, you’re making a request to:
https://api.tfl.gov.uk/line/229/route/sequence/inbound
…and using the stopPointSequences property in that response:

Please note that there are two inbound routes for the 229:

  • Sidcup / Queen Mary’s Hospital → Thamesmead Town Centre
  • King Henry School → Thamesmead Town Centre

To facilitate this, the line is split into three branches:

  1. Sidcup / Queen Mary’s Hospital (490012139HE) to Carlton Road (490004804N)
  2. King Henry School (490016608W) to Carlton Road (490004804N)
  3. Carlton Road (490004804N) to Thamesmead Town Centre (490013214C)

Therefore, the two routes can be constructed as follows:

  • Sidcup / Queen Mary’s Hospital → Thamesmead Town Centre = Branch 0 + Branch 2
  • King Henry School → Thamesmead Town Centre = Branch 1 + Branch 2

I wonder if you might only be using the first branch (Branch 0), which only covers part of the route.

Thanks so much @LeonByford - this was definitely my mistake as I haven’t come across multiple branches before (I only deal with buses). Some complicated updates will be required on my end then  !

No problem. There are quite a few routes like that. Examples:
