Duplicate transxchange timetable

I am seeing an overlapping identical central line service running at 04:35 from White City to Epping on Saturday 24th Feb.

I understand that one of these may be a base timetable, but how can I identify which one it is? One is valid for 7 days, the other for 10 days and mostly overlap.

Hi @paulc - welcome to the forum. Apologies it has taken a while to respond to you.

Within each TransXChange file, there is an OperatingPeriod specified.

The base timetable is usually end-dated until December, although when a service change occurs to the base, you will have 2 TxC files that will have adjacent start and end dates.

In terms of special timetables (usually engineering works), the base timetable remains, but the Operating Period will be for the days those works occur (usually 2-3 days at most).

In determining which one of the (usually) 2 to use, Iā€™d suggest looking at the one with the soonest expiration date (while in that validity period) which should tell you if a special timetable is operating on that given day.

Many thanks,
James
