The Liz Line diagram is very unhelpful in places. I had to help a fellow passenger change at Ealing Broadway today (rather than AML) because he’d got on Liz at or before Paddington and wanted Slough rather than the Airport.
Despite the huge fuss given to the two trains a day that call at Paddington High Level - no mention is made at all that non-Airport trains don’t call at three stations on the way, so you can’t use them to get to Maidenhead …
and the limited stop nature of Reading trains.
Knowing this once you’re on the train might be old-fashioned Red Dagger helpful.
