Welcome to the latest Journey Planner Data Update – designed to keep you up to date with new timetables, stops and points of interest which have been added to the system and timetable data sources over the past week.

STEP-FREE ACCESS: UPDATE
To complement improvements to the website interface and the growing demand for improved accessibility information within Journey Planner and API, we have completed an audit of all National Rail step-free access information for stations across England, Wales and Scotland.
This is followed up by adjustments to Journey Planner to ensure valid planning of “step-free to platform” journeys using National Rail, Overground and TfL Rail within London, and to a wide number of stations within Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Oxfordshire. Surrey and Sussex. This includes train -bus connections across London and the South East, unlocking a large number of through multi-modal accessible journeys. We will extend this to stations outside London as systems are improved.
95% of bus stops in London are accessible to wheelchair users, however, we are now starting a project which labels the small number of inaccessible bus stops and removes them from Journey Planner and API solutions when “Full step-free access” is selected. We are progressing through on a borough-by-borough basis, and, so far, work has been completed for all boroughs in the London area for which we have information. Updated information on stops in the borough of Barnet, where many stops are accessible, has been included in JP this week.
