Journey planner is routing by obsolete trains

According to a route offered by the TFL Journey Planner:

On arrival at the platform, I was told the 17:57 was an obsolete train that was discontinued in May.

Hi @harry

We’re looking into this now and it appears this journey may not be correct. We get the data from the Rail Delivery Group for Overground so we may need to investigate with them where the discrepancy is coming from.

Thanks,
James

Hi @harry

We’ve had a response regarding this train. We’ve been advised that the train is valid and in the timetable, but not always run, so is not advertised. However, Journey Planner pulls the data from the published timetables, so we don’t currently have a way of suppressing this. We are looking at bringing in the live NR arrivals into Journey Planner’s algorithm so that if this situation occurs, we will be able to react to it.

However, I have also been advised that in the next few weeks, the service should be returned to a 15 minute headway and that service will be advertised again.

Thanks,
James
