New open data release: Cycling Infrastructure Database (CID)

We are very excited to announce that the world’s largest cycling database is now available as open data. You can find the full data set broken down into separate files for cycle parking, signals, traffic calming, signage, restricted points, restricted routes, cycle lanes, cycle crossings and advanced stop lines at https://cycling.data.tfl.gov.uk under Cycling Infrastructure/.

Our Unified API gives you access to the CID cycle parking data in /Place which we’ve also used to update the information in our Journey Planner.

Read more about how the data was collected, what it covers, where to access it and how to use it in our Unified API in our new blog post.

We’d love to hear how you’ve used the data in your apps or research so please let us know on this forum post. Also any ideas for improvements or any questions about the data, please post them here and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
