The map in the Tfl “Oyster” app isn’t exactly bang-up-to-date.

I have spoken to the Product Manager and a map refresh is in the backlog.
There are some priority upgrades that need to be completed before this is launched though.

Five months later and it’s still the same Dec. 2019 map!

The map update was blocked by changes that needed to be made for the authentication systems used by the app. The map refresh is now due in September.

Is there any update on this? It’s been another six months since the due date of September and the map for me is still showing 2019 (accessing via an Android phone) for me.
If updating the maps is a difficult process that can’t be automated/simplified, would it be worth removing the map functionality from the app completely? I personally would prefer to be linked to a source like the TfL Go app or website than to see outdated information - especially if it isn’t made obvious that it’s outdated.

Hi @MMJZ - I’ve chatted with the product manager again and she’s advised that only critical updates are being made to the app at this time. There is a plan to address this, but we can’t share any more at this time.
